PHARMACIST, COSMETOLOGIST AND FOUNDER OF TWELVE BEAUTY
Pedro Catalá, the founder and formulator behind TWELVE BEAUTY, brings together his scientific background in pharmacy, botany and cosmetology with over 20 years of expertise in plants and botanical research, shaping a unique approach to modern urban skincare.
After years of extensive research, he created TWELVE BEAUTY — a botanical skincare line designed to support skin with carefully selected natural-origin ingredients and a deep respect for its balance.
VITA
Pedro Catalá graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Valencia, Spain, in 1998.
His interest in the therapeutic potential of plants led him to continue his studies in the Department of Botany at the same university, where he spent four years deepening his knowledge of plant science and its connection to medicine, particularly skin care.
This path later took him to the University of Siena, Italy, where he completed a Master’s degree in the Science and Technology of Cosmetics in 2007, followed by a PhD in Natural and Formulation Technologies.
Bringing together years of academic research and a deep understanding of plant extracts, he spent a further five years developing TWELVE BEAUTY: a considered range of skin care products designed for different skin needs, especially stressed, sensitive and reactive skin.
Our Origins
TWELVE BEAUTY formulas are designed to protect and restore the skin as it ages, supporting its natural functionality and promoting healthier-looking skin.
Before founding TWELVE BEAUTY, Pedro Catalá worked as a pharmacist at a private hospital on Harley Street, in Central London. During this time, he was in close contact with patients experiencing a wide range of skin concerns, from irritation and sensitivity to skin affected by cosmetic procedures or medical treatments. This clinical experience gave him a deeper understanding of fragile, stressed and reactive skin, and became one of the foundations of his approach to formulation.
Alongside his work with TWELVE BEAUTY, he also shares his expertise by lecturing on skincare formulation at the University of Siena.
