It’s no secret that my “desert island” product is Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream. From the beginning, I was very clear: the idea was to create something effective but that would minimize the negative impact of cleansing on the skin. I remember my professor questioning the enormous dose of vegetable squalane in a product that is rinsed off and doesn't remain on the skin. My reasoning was to return to and renew some of the oils that we strip away when cleansing. The truth is, I’m happy with the final result of this squalane cleanser, and judging by your comments, I know it’s a product loved by the entire #twelvelovers community.

Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream sets itself apart from most cleansers by leaving the skin regenerated, hydrated, and at the same time, free of impurities. Its exquisite non-foaming texture is due to the combination of plant-derived oils that work together to dissolve sebum, dirt, pollution, and makeup. The addition of a coconut oil-derived emulsifier ensures that dirt residues are easily removed from the skin by rinsing the face with warm water. Instead of being merely a product to remove cosmetic residues and impurities, it is something much more effective than that. Because this cleanser restores squalane levels in our skin and does not alter its acid mantle, it is the ideal product for non-aggressive facial cleansing, morning and night. In fact, I see it more as a treatment than a cleanser. Despite formulating the line, I love (and always have) trying other products and supporting other brands—the truth is, there are wonderful things out there—but I have never experienced the final sensation I get with Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream.

Second step of the double cleanse. Delicate for the skin, and it removes easily with just water. In addition to cleansing, it leaves a feeling of hydration. At first, it's a bit hard to get used to the formula because we think that something that doesn't foam doesn't clean, but nothing could be further from the truth. Why is squalane important for the skin?
Squalane is a saturated derivative of squalene, and in our case, it is plant-derived, from olives.
Squalene is a skin lipid (a key part of human sebum) whose function is to keep it hydrated to maintain its elasticity and flexibility. Its production decreases with age, which is why many creams and lotions incorporate it. That's where squalane comes in. Thanks to this lightweight plant lipid having a molecular structure very similar to that of skin lipids, it is easily absorbed without leaving greasy residues, helping to protect the skin barrier and retain hydration. Therefore, using a product containing squalane in your beauty routine is highly recommended if you want to maintain healthier skin for longer.
