Nutritive Repair Emulsion

Nutritive Repair Emulsion

We have compiled the most frequent questions you ask us about our richest and most nourishing cream, and we provide the answers...

I love this moisturizer! Can it be used during the day too?

Yes, it can be used as a day cream if you have very dry skin or if your skin is sensitive or reactive. It is very soothing.

Does it contain mallow, for its soothing properties?

When I formulate my products, I always have stressed, reactive, and sensitive skin in mind. Mallow is one of the best ingredients for this type of skin. There is a very old Spanish proverb that says "A garden with mallow, enough medicine for a home," and in herbal tradition, there are records of mallow dating back to 3000 BC. Mallow flowers are very moisturizing, and the leaves have very healing properties. Furthermore, it is a wonderful ingredient that has been studied for decades, which helps me a lot as a pharmacist because it means there is a lot of valid information about its use and safety in cosmetics.

In a Masterclass, you mentioned that the Nutritive Repair Emulsion could be seen as a natural version of a hydrocortisone cream…

Dry, sensitive skin is linked to a compromised skin barrier, which means the skin is more vulnerable to external factors (i.e., it gets irritated and sensitive easily). This product visibly reduces symptoms related to high histamine levels in the skin, such as itching, swelling, and redness. I am very happy with the final result.

Can this product be classified as "sustainable beauty"?

Yes, of course. It contains 'Spent' grain wax, which comes from a byproduct of washing barley before it is processed in the food industry. It leaves a large mass of white fat that is rich in high-purity linoleic acid. This byproduct was considered waste until someone analyzed the residue and realized it had fantastic benefits for the skin! Additionally, the other plants used in the formula, such as buddleja and mallow, are actually considered weeds because they grow very quickly in contaminated soils and require very little water. This is the future for natural cosmetics: using only ingredients that do not require the planet's precious natural resources.

The cream is very rich, but it absorbs quickly and leaves no residue. Does it contain natural silicone?

Natural silicone does not exist, but there are very light, naturally derived emollients that absorb easily and leave the skin incredibly soft to the touch. This particular product contains Cupuaçu butter, which absorbs quickly. It is one of the most moisturizing butters found in the natural world and is full of polyphenols (powerful antioxidants), and this may be why the cream feels very rich but not greasy.

Does it help in cases of eczema?

I have seen very favorable results in cases of people suffering from eczema. I recommend using it twice a day as a normal moisturizer, after gentle cleansing and a regenerating serum.

It contains cetearyl alcohol, will it dry out my skin?

Despite the name, this ingredient is actually a natural emollient wax that gives the formula structure. Alcohols (which dry out the skin regardless of their origin) typically appear as: alcohol, denatured alcohol, or ethanol.

Any beauty tips using this product?

After a windy winter day, before flying, or after a long day at the beach, I apply a thicker layer of the cream than usual and let it work its magic all night. The next day, my skin feels very calm, regenerated, and soft.
