If this is not the case, on numerous occasions, we abandon everything we are using to try a new miracle product or to verify that it fulfills its promises. At the beginning of last year, I was asked for my opinion on possible trends for 2020, and one of the ones I listed was that of immediate visible results due to the lack of time in our lives. It is true that not everything in cosmetics works in the same way, and parameters such as purity and quality, together with the doses used, influence whether our expectations are met. All else being equal, most of the time we do not see the desired effects of a beauty product because, in reality, we have not used it long enough. The key is to be patient and to remember that the waiting time to see the results of a cosmetic depends on the product and what we want to achieve. The time is not the same for every type of cosmetic we use.
As a general rule, for serums or lifting creams with peptides or natural gums with a tightening effect, the results are immediate. For a moisturizing cream, results are usually seen in a few days, as they "only" repair or treat the superficial layers of the skin. If they include ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, unsaponifiable oils or ceramides, their effects are noticed faster. Anything that includes emollient substances such as vegetable oils provides immediate comfort to the skin, and its appearance visibly improves.
To treat skin blemishes or to minimize the appearance of fine lines, it is necessary to wait a minimum of 3 months since we are repairing the deeper layers of the skin. Although it is always said that epidermal cell turnover takes 4 weeks to complete, if we want to make a more accurate evaluation, we should at least wait 3 cycles, i.e., 12 weeks.
So, consistency, along with a little patience, is key.
