It is no secret to most of our community that earlier this year I completed a Master's Degree in Perfumery in Italy. It has been a journey dedicated to discovery and innovation. For me, it was about coming full circle on an incomplete academic path, but it transported me to past times that I long for daily, even though they help and guide me towards a brighter future.
During this journey, I rediscovered chypre and oriental notes, vetiver bases, marine accords, and reconciled myself with different roses and some gourmand compositions. I also spent time exploring new facets of the iris aroma in all its variants, but what really struck me was the warmth of amber, which has provided me with comfort and serenity over the past few months.
For my final exam, I wanted to create a fragrance inspired by ambergris. This ingredient is as mysterious in its origin as it is in its preparation. Following Twelve Beauty's philosophy, I identified natural essences and molecules capable of building that aromatic halo that emanates from this magical ingredient. The result is an amber perfume with "green" and sustainable ingredients. Its woody touch creates an escape from the maelstrom our days have become.
